Also, how come the caustic soda burns the face of the guy but has no effect on the heroine's hands? It was all a little too much Dick Dastardly does female chick flick revenge. How did a slightly built woman manage to get those huge guys into those elaborate torture positions? It would have been more believable if somebody else was helping, or if she had just shot the culprits numerous times. Although I enjoyed seeing the rapist get their just deserts, this is where the film loses all credibility. The rape scene was very protracted and IMO unnecessarily graphic. This is a movie that you have to look at from the directors' point of view, in order to see it for what it is, which is a good story, and a film that has good actors in it. This movie deserves more praise than what most movie buffs, horror fans and movie critics are giving it. This is a movie that got a ton of terrible movie reviews by movie viewers, movie buffs and movie critics. This movie originally got an NC-17 rating by the MPA and the editors had to slightly cut some content of footage out in order to receive a very high R rating. But this movie will only be appealing to a very specific audience of horror fans and movie viewers. The producers made a good call to produce this movie. If you like the Saw films this is a movie that will be easy for you to stomach. This movie was praised by Meri Zarchi who's the director of the original film, I Spit on your grave made back in 1978. The script writing is good and the movie has great dialogue that holds its' own. The directing is good and the story is very simple to follow. The music is decent, and the composer does a pretty job at setting the mood for intense and suspenseful scenes. The acting is quite good and the special effects are amazing.
